‘The Apprentice’ cameraman shoots film for Finborough School
To stand out from the rest of the region’s independent schools and to give overseas prospective parents a chance to get a real feel for life at Finborough, we proposed the idea of a short film to promote the school.

In creating the brief for the style and content of the film we knew that a short fly-on-the-wall documentary was what was needed. Shooting, directing and editing high quality footage of this nature to today’s highest TV standards takes great skill and experience. So you can imagine how delighted we were when our production team, Lionyard Media, was able to secure the services of their close contact and sought-after cameraman Bala Bailey, between his commitments on popular BBC TV series ‘The Apprentice’!
Despite the time of year the weather was extremely kind to us and both pupils and staff performed impeccably in front of the camera. The film was deliberately without script, using interview techniques to achieve a credible, real life feel. The result?
A compact piece of film that communicates what we believe to be the most important points for any prospective parent; in a natural style that reflects the vibrant personality of the school. To view the video please get in touch.
We host the film online alongside their website so that Finborough School can simply email a link to it to prospective parents all around the world. It’s also used as an initial introduction at School Open Days – when it stirs the emotions and brings a tear to many eyes we’re told! Once footage like this exists, there are so many options for its use in the future. It can be edited into smaller chunks for specific requirements, used for training, the website and can easily be added to and changed over time. We are in the process of creating different language versions too.
Film can offer so many marketing possibilities. If you’d like to discuss how it could benefit your business call Donna Brown on 01449 765720 or email donna@blueskycreativemarketing.com
